Groupe Partouche's total revenue declined by over 25%, while gross gaming revenue fell by one-third, as the operator continued to contend with closures in the year ending 31 October.
Gross gaming income totalled €350.2 million during the year, reflecting a 33.4% decrease from 2019-20.
Following the payment of €134.2 million in gambling levies, a decrease of 44.7%, the business reported a net gaming revenue of €215.9 million. This was a 23.7% decrease compared to 2019-20.
Partouche generated an extra €41.1 million in non-gaming revenue, a decline of 34.4%, however €1.4 million of this was offset by payments made through its loyalty program.
The group's total consolidated revenue amounted to €255.7 million, reflecting a 25.6% decrease compared to the prior year.
The operator observed that Partouche casinos were closed for six and a half months throughout the year. This duration exceeded double the period during which casinos were shuttered in 2019-20.
“The reduction in activity, intrinsic to the pandemic, will inevitably result in a decrease in annual outcomes,” it stated.
In the fourth quarter of the year, gross gaming revenue amounted to €148.7 million. This represented a 4.1% decrease from the fourth quarter of 2019-20.
The majority of the overall GGR originated from France, while international revenue amounted to €14.8 million, predominantly derived from online activities in Switzerland. The decrease was primarily attributable to the closure of Casino Oostende in Belgium.
In France, slot revenue reached €108.6 million, an increase of 8.6%, and table game gross gaming revenue rose by 1.7% to €25.3 million.
The average expenditure per client rose from €70 in the fourth quarter of 2019-20 to €83 in the fourth quarter of 2020-21.
Partouche disbursed €75.5 million in levies, a decrease of 3.2%, resulting in €73.1 million in net gaming revenue, which is a 5.0% decline compared to the prior year.
Following the inclusion of €21.2 million in revenue from non-gaming sources, Partouche's total revenue reached €94.3 million, reflecting a 0.5% increase.
Partouche sought a permission to construct an integrated resort in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, serving as the operator in the bid of the Japanese holding firm Clairvest Neem Ventures, which was selected for Wakayama's application for an IR licence.
Clairvest Neem terminated its arrangement with Partouche, resulting in Caesars ultimately replacing the operator in the bid.
